Daily Reflections, supplications and prayers

Friday, October 7, 2022.

1. Reflection:

+ A certain person in our ward was beginning to die. Amidst terrible tortures, she was dying for three days, sometimes regaining consciousness. Everyone in the ward was praying for her. I longed to go to her, but Mother Superior had forbidden me to go to visit the dying, so I prayed for that poor soul in my room. But when I heard the she was still in agony, and thee was no saying how long it was going to take, I suddenly felt inspired in my soul and said to the Lord, “Jesus, if all I do is pleasing to You, (285) I ask You, as evidence, to let that soul stop suffering and pass on immediately to her happy eternity.” A few minutes later I learned that the person had passed away so peacefully and quickly that they did not even have time to light the candle (Saint María Faustina Kowalska, Divine Mercy in My Soul, Diary, 707-936).

2. Supplications:

  • Let us ask for the Grace to be compassionate with those who suffer.
  • Let us pray for the dying and for the souls in Purgatory.
  • Let us ask the Lord to have commiseration of our suffering humanity and for  the end  of the spread of COVID-19 throughout the world,
  • For the souls in purgatory,
  • For our suffering humanity and for our personal intentions.

 3. Resolutions of the day:

Always intercede for those who suffer.

4. Final Prayer: 

Oh, how much need for prayers the dying souls have. Oh JESUS, inspire souls to pray frequently for the dying. Oh My Good Merciful Jesus, King of Mercy, I trust in You, and only in you I Hope. Amen. Jesus I Trust in You (Diary, 1506).
