CONSECRATION TO THE DIVINE MERCY.  33 DAYS OF PREPARATION TO THE CONSECRATION IN THE SCHOOL OF THE DIVINE MERCY. Deepening into the reflections of Fr. Guillermo Serra, L.C.

Author: Ephrem Tshibamfumu Tiabakweno

This work you hold in your hands, Consecration to Divine Mercy, 33 Days of Preparation in the School of Divine Mercy, is a beautiful realization of this path to be traveled by the Church in this third millennium. On the occasion of the preparation for the Consecration to Divine Mercy, its pages present us with a true school to enter into the mystery of Divine Mercy, to interiorize it, and to practice this same mercy in our relationships.

In it, its author, Ephrem Tshibamfumu Tiabakweno, offers a valid itinerary for discovering, deepening and surrendering to Divine Mercy. He does so by drawing on the rich teachings of the Popes, particularly St. John Paul II and Pope Francis, St. Faustina, and the timely meditations of Fr. Guillermo Serra, L.C. In addition to the teachings and meditations on mercy, he also offers practical exercises to practice and interiorize the proposed teaching.

This School of Mercy is already bearing much fruit in various countries. May God continue to be an effective instrument for those who thirst for His Divine Mercy; may they find it thanks to its pages, may they surrender themselves ever more trustingly to it and allow themselves to be transformed by it.

“The Mother of Mercy welcomes everyone under the protection of her mantle […]. Let us trust in her motherly help and follow her constant prompting to turn our eyes to Jesus, the radiant face of God’s mercy” (MV, 22). May she guide all who will use this manual to turn continually to her Son, “the radiant face of God’s mercy” and the only hope for us and for the world.

CONSECRATION TO THE DIVINE MERCY.

33 DAYS OF PREPARATION TO THE CONSECRATION, IN THE SCHOOL OF THE DIVINE MERCY

DAY 1: DIVINE ENCOUNTER WITH MY MISERY

DIARY

(50) + Today the Lord said to me, My daughter, My pleasure and delight, nothing will stop me from granting you graces. Your misery does not hinder my mercy. My daughter, write that the greater the misery of a soul, the greater its right to My mercy; [urge] all souls to trust in the unfathomable abyss of My mercy, because I want to save them all. On the cross, the fountain of My mercy was opened wide by the lance for all souls – no one have I excluded! (Diary, 1182)

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

• Why am I worried about looking more at my misery, but I do not fully trust in the Lord’s Mercy?
• Why don’t I trust in the Lord’s Mercy in difficult times?

PRAYER OF ST JOHN PAUL II

God, merciful Father, in your Son, Jesus Christ, you have revealed your love and poured it out upon us in the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, we entrust to you today the destiny of the world and of every man and woman. Bend down to us sinners, heal our weakness, conquer all evil, and grant that all the peoples of the earth may experience your mercy.
In You, the Triune God, may they ever find the source of hope. Eternal Father by the Passion and Resurrection of your Son, have mercy on us and upon the whole world! Amen.

THE CHAPLET OF THE DIVINE MERCY (PREFERABLY TO BE PRAYED AT 3 PM) HOW DO YOU PRAY THE CHAPLET? (Everyday prayer for the preparation)

Use a common rosary.
• Our Father, who art in heaven…
• Hail Mary, full of grace…
• I believe in God, Almighty Father, Creator of heaven and earth.

At the beginning of every decade (1 time): Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, the Soul and divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

In every bead of the decade (10 times): For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

At the end (3 times): Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us and on the whole world (cf. Diary, 476).

MEDITATION AT THE HOUR OF MERCY

DIARY

My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given to you. It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying the chaplet. When hardened sinners say it, I will fill their souls with peace, and the hour of their death will be a happy one.
Write this for the benefit of distressed souls; when a soul sees and realized the gravity of its sins, when the whole abyss of the misery into which it immersed itself is displayed before its eyes, let it not despair, but with trust let it throw itself into the arms of My mercy, as a child into the arms of its beloved mother. These souls (125) have a right of priority to My compassionate Heart, they have first access to My mercy. Tell them that no soul that has called upon My mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I delight particularly in a soul which has placed its trust in My goodness.
Write that when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the merciful Savior. (Diary, 1541)
… as often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; invoke its omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners; for at that moment mercy was opened wide for every (145) soul (Diary, 1572).

SUPPLICATIONS

• Let us pray with our hearts for the conversion of sinners, that they may be touched by the love of the Lord and generously accept his Mercy.
• Let us ask for the grace to open ourselves to the Lord’s Mercy in the difficult times in our lives.

IN YOUR NOTEBOOK, WRITE DOWN
(Everyday exercise for the preparation)

First column: my mistakes faults committed
In the second column: inner wounds and painful memories.
At the end of the day: I put myself in the presence of the Lord, under the light of the Holy Spirit and the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary to evaluate my life:
• Have I fulfilled my resolutions today, according to the will of the Lord?
• Have I done at least one work of Mercy, both corporal and spiritual?
I bless the day, thank the King of Mercy and sign in my heart: “Jesus, I trust in you.”
