  1. REFLECTION:

“+ One night one of our sisters who had died two months before came to visit me. She was one of the sisters of the first choir. I saw her in a terrible state. All on fire, her face twisted painfully. [The vision] lasted for a for a brief moment, and she disappeared. A chill ran through my soul, and though I did not know where she suffered, in Purgatory or in Hell, yet I redoubled my prayers for her. The next night she came again, but I saw her in an even more frightful state, amid more terrible flames, despair was visible on her face. I was very surprised that after the prayers I had offered for her I saw her in a more terrible state and asked: Have my prayers not helped you at all? My prayers didn’t help at all and that they weren’t going to help him. I asked: And the prayers that the whole Congregation offered for you didn’t help you either? He answered that they weren’t at all. Those prayers were for the benefit of other souls. And I said: Yes my prayers do not help you at all, sister, please do not come to see me. And immediately disappeared. However, I did not stop praying. After some time he visited me again at night, but in a different state. He was not in flames as before and his face was radiant, his eyes shone with joy and he told me that I had true love for my neighbor, that many souls took advantage of my prayers, and he encouraged me not to stop [interceding] for souls who suffered in Purgatory and told me that she was not going to remain in Purgatory for a long time. The judgments of God are truly mysterious!”. (Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, The Divine Mercy in my soul, Diary, 58).
