  1. REFLECTION:

“On a previous occasion.

At night I saw the LORD JESUS crucified. From the hands and feet and from the side dripped the Most Sacred Blood. A moment later JESUS told me: All this for the salvation of souls. Reflect, My daughter, on what you do for their salvation. I answered: JESUS when I look at Your Passion I do almost nothing to save souls. And the LORD told me: You must know, My daughter, that your daily, silent martyrdom in total submission to My will introduces many souls to heaven and when it seems to you that suffering exceeds your strength, look at My wounds, (51) and you will rise above contempt and human judgments. The meditation of My Passion will help you rise above it all. I understood a lot of things that I had not been able to understand before.”

“9 VII 1937. At night one of the deceased sisters came to see me and asked for a day of fasting and that on that day I offer all the practices of piety for her. I replied that I agreed “.

“The next day, first thing in the morning, I expressed the intention of [offering] everything for that sister. During Holy Mass, for a moment I lived her torment, I felt in my soul such a great hunger for GOD that it seemed to me that I was dying from the desire to unite myself with Him. That lasted a brief moment, but I understood what the lively desire of the souls in Purgatory is.”

“Immediately after Holy Mass I asked the Mother Superior for permission to fast, however I did not receive it because I was ill. Upon entering the chapel I heard these words: If you, sister, had fasted, I would have received relief only tonight, but due to the obedience that you have been forbidden to fast, I received relief immediately. Obedience has great power. After these words I heard: GOD reward you.” (Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, Divine Mercy in my soul, Diary, 1184-1185-1186-1187).
