  1. REFLECTIONS:

16 IX [1937]. Today I ardently wanted to do Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament, however the Will of GOD was different: at eight o’clock I experienced such violent pains that (31) I had to go to bed immediately; I have been contorting myself with these pains for three hours until eleven at night. No medicine relieved me, what I drank I vomited; there were times when the pain left me unconscious. JESUS made me know that in this way I have taken part in his agony in the Garden and that He Himself had allowed these sufferings in reparation to GOD for the souls murdered in the bosom of bad mothers. These pains have happened to me three times already, they always begin at eight o’clock; [last] until eleven at night. No medicine manages to alleviate these sufferings. When eleven o’clock approaches, they disappear by themselves and then I fall asleep; the next day I feel very weak. The first time that happened to me in the sanatorium. The doctors failed to diagnose it; neither the injection nor any other medicine could relieve me (32) and I did not understand what kind of suffering they were. I told the doctor that never in my life had I had such pain; He stated that he did not know what the pains were. Now yes, I understand what pains it is about, because the LORD made me know… However, to think that perhaps one day I will suffer like this again, it gives me chills; but I do not know if in the future I will suffer again in a similar way, I leave it to GOD; what GOD likes to send me, I will receive everything with submission and love. Hopefully, with these sufferings, I can save at least one soul from murder. (Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, Divine Mercy in my soul, Diary, 1276).
